he expected would be the killing of women and children in the tax. prosecutors say quazi nafis came to the u.s. from bangladesh in january on a student visa. he attended southeast missouri state stying cybersecurity nall, he contacted a confidential informant saying he wanted to form a terror cell. he met with undercover agents in september telling them he wanted to become a martyr for al-qaeda. he chose the target himself and was supplied with inactive materials to make a to 1,000 pound bomb. officials say nafis made several attempts to detonate it in lower manhattan yesterday and was then arrested. new york representative peter king says the fbi rightly let this one play out. >> they did not want this case to break out in the open as quickly as it did because they wanted to try to get more information out of him as to possible other al-qaeda operatives here in the united states. but i have no reason to believe he is night lone wolf other than the fact that during the course of the investigation, he

degree, the two-year degree are getting hired at a pretty rapid clip. over the past six months, more than half a million jobs were create for those with if two- year degrees according to the labor market. these are x-ray technicians, other kinds of workers in the medical field, factory workers with a decent skill set. they are getting hired for a couple of reasons. lower skilled workers are the first to go during a recession and now that the recession is over, they're getting hired again. also, as higher level managers are indeed hired, those with four-year degrees plus, they're more inclined to bring on mid- level managers which oftentimes have the two-year degree. >> the good news is people are getting hired. that is the bottom line. >> right. >> that is the silver lining in all this. always good to see you. have a great day. >> you too. a terror plot focusing on a high row file target in new york city. this man was never even close to getting off the ground. we'll explain coming up. ain co

we'll share this obvious will you, tucker. in 1923, south dakota state historian doan robinson came up with an idea for attracting tourists to the park there and to the black hills of dakota. and originally, the idea was to have someone sculpt local heroes, some local heroes like local indian heroes. >> local western heroes. >> i had on my list, lewis and clark, red cloud and buffalo bill cody. >> there was some thought of sculpt sculpting those figures out of the needles. he wrote to a famous sculptor. he liked to celebrate america. he was known for sculpting this great bust of abraham lincoln and was supposed to do some

work in the south stone mountain of confederate leaders there. that project fell through so he was able for mount rushmore. he actually came up with the idea. >> maybe it is a good thing that project fell through. there you go. >> it depends on your perspective. >> mount rushmore, so yeah, he selected these four presidents and i didn't realize the symbolism behind the four presidents that he chose. >> okay. >> george washington, the first president, of course, was picked because he represents the birth of the united states. >> that makes sense. >> and washington, since he was the first president, his figure is dominant. it is out in front. the other presidents. >> i didn't realize that. >> that's right. >> thomas jefferson, the third president was picked. he represents the growth of the united states and sort of an interesting story. >> yeah. i'll tell you that one here. there is a picture of mount rushmore as we know t i want to show you a picture after

washington was completed. the sculptor and his team began work on jefferson. jefferson originally was on the other side of washington. isn't that interesting? >> that is a great find. >> they worked on it for almost two years and found a crack in the stone that made it not stable. they had to start all over. they blasted the work he had done off the stone and started on the other side. >> real quick, teddy roosevelt represents the development of the united states, 26th president and abraham lincoln, the 16th president represents the preservation of the united states. >> so it is kind of a shrine to democracy. it represents the early history of the united states, first 150 years. that is why he chose those people. the project was begun in the 1920s, not fin underred until 1941, unfontly, shortly after the original sculptor died.

his son finish the works. -- unfortunately, shortly after the original sculptor died. it was not done without controversy because the area the home to the lakota indians and consider that land sacred. it was built. later, some of the native americans sided to have a sculpture of chief crazy horse built about 17 miles way from this. that was completed in the late '90s. >> i didn't realize that the nats presidents that are running -- >> i thought the same thing. >> teddy is kind of tucked back in there too. >> my brother wanted to see this really bad. he was driving across the country. drove six hours out of his way to see it because it is in the middle of south dakota. he drove six hours out of the way, foggy of the day of the year and he couldn't see it. he never saw it. >> he didn't stay until the fog went away. >> i guess he was in a hurry. >> fascinating history. it is in the black hills of
